After we contact Dig Safe, they’ll notify the appropriate utility companies, who will then send professionals to your property to mark the location of underground lines, pipes, and cables. We need that information before we start work to avoid damaging essential utilities.

Plan ahead! We always allow a few days for the marking to be completed before the scheduled start of your stump grinding project. If you need the work done by a specific date, let us know so we can plan ahead!

Marking Underground Utilities 

In the South Shore area of Massachusetts, it's important to contact "Dig Safe" before starting any digging or excavation projects, including stump grinding, near potential underground utilities.

Dig Safe is a not-for-profit clearinghouse that notifies participating utility companies about planned excavation. It's a free service, and it's also the law in Massachusetts to contact them before digging to help avoid potential costly damage or utility service interruptions.
